Pandit Charka and his dedication to the art of  

Kathak Dance

 

The inner urge in all of us is to identify ourselves with the streak of culture and art that makes the quality of life richer and more meaningful. There are constraints that crop up but eventually culture prevails, because culture is what we are. In Indian culture, dance and music have much importance to religious worship and spirituality. It is this compelling force that prompted the founders of East-West School of Dance passionately into the challenging mission of keeping the torch of culture lit in our hearts and minds.

The East-West School of Dance established in 1981, since then the year-long festivities by hosting an extraordinary Kathak dance events to celebrate  Kathak Dance teachings & creating traditional choreography works of Indian epic stories expanding to bring audiance internationally. 

The Programs show cases dedication to the art of Kathak, an ancient Indian dance form. Many of well trained talented and dynamic dancing students perform and portray PARAMPARA, the traditional values of this great art form inspired by Lucknow Gharana of Kathak Dance in India.
